Tris-(Bathophenanthroline-Disulfonate)-Ruthenium(II)

Tris-(bathophenanthroline-disulfonate)-ruthenium(II), drawn by A. Zahn. Key ingredient of a solution for the ultrasensitive fluorescence staining of proteins in two-dimensional gels.

The exact formula of the staining solution and a protocol for its use were developped by Andreas Lamanda in the research group of Prof. Bernhard Erni (bernhard.erni@unibe.ch), and brought to the market by FLUKA AG, Buchs.
