Direct Coordination of Metal Ions to Tetrathiafulvalene Derivatives

The NiCl2 complex with 4,5-bis(2-pyridyl methylsulfanyl)-4´,5´-ethylenedithiotetrathiafulvalene is one example of the direct coordination of the metal ions to tetrathiafulvalene derivatives, which might constitute a new approach for the achievement of p-d interactions in molecule-based multifunctional materials.

This work was carried out by Shi-Xia Liu in the group of Prof. Silvio Decurtins.
